Easy DIY Exfoliating Scrub with Two Natural Ingredients.

AmorZen Life home

I love using all natural products.  I love it, even more, when I can make these products with common household items.  So when I discovered this natural face scrub and how easy it was with only two ingredients, I was in love. I felt like I had to tell everyone.  My twin sister was the first person I pitched it to. I guess I did such a good job she thought I was copying and pasting an ad to sell her some products. 🙂

I am telling you, this face scrub is now my go too for a smooth and moisturizing feel.  It makes me feel reborn and gives my skin an amazing glow. I do highly advise to test any combination of products on a small section of your skin to avoid severe allergic reactions.  Also, knowing your skin type will help you decide what products will best benefit you.

Purpose of a face scrub.

The purpose of any face scrub should be to exfoliate the skin.  This breaks down any build-up, dirt, and old dead skin. When you do that your skin should feel smooth, soft, and glowing.  This is especially helpful for women who put on makeup daily and men that shave frequently. Using a face scrub can also help with preventing acne and treat acne scars or blemishes.  So adding a face scrub to your skin care routine can take your skin to another level.

My face scrub ingredients.

I found a combination that works wonders on my skin, after doing a lot of research and countless experimenting. I’m surprised more people are not talking about it. The two ingredients for my face scrub are
Cinnamon and Coconut Oil.  That’s it!

Cinnamon has a wonderful amount of healing properties and some being for the skin; such as anti-fungal, antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties. It can also help remove acne by drying out the skin and by supporting blood flow to the skin. Not to mention it smells great too!  Read in more detail about the benefits of cinnamon on this amazing blog post →

Now, who doesn’t love coconut oil?  It is used for countless things and one is a skin moisturizer. Not only can coconut oil reduce inflammation, but it also possesses antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.  I highly recommend reading more about these benefits on this amazing blog post here → https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/coconut-oil-and-skin

Honestly, I came up with this combination by accident.  I was so desperate for a natural face scrub that after learning about the benefits of these two ingredients, I just tried it.  I was hooked!

DIY

  1. Use a glass container (a cup can work too),
  2. Put a spoonful of coconut oil (still hard and grainy is preferred)
  3. Put a spoonful of cinnamon.
  4. Stir it around until even

Directions

  1. Damp your face with water,
  2. Then using your fingers take some of the face scrub and in a circular motion, rub around your face for about one minute.
  3. (Optional) Leave it on your face for about 3-5 minutes
  4. Rinse with water and wash it off with your favorite face wash.
  5. Gently towel dry.

The coconut oil will cause the water to roll off the face making you feel greasy. Make sure to use a cleansing face wash to reduce the greasy residue from your face.  You can always add more or less of either cinnamon for a deeper scrub or coconut oil for those drier seasons to help stay moisturized.

I also recommend using this face scrub twice a week. If you are someone who wears makeup daily, then three times a week.  This, one spoonful ratio should last for about a week.

It doesn’t get much easier than this.  I would love to know if you tried this face scrub and what you think about it. Leave me a comment below 🙂

Stephanie
